ECOLE SUPERIEURE D'ARTS ET MEDIAS de Caen/Cherbourg

Both a higher education institution and cultural facilities, the Caen/Cherbourg Higher School of Arts & Media offers a wide range of training and activities aimed at different categories of audiences. The higher education curricula that lead each year 270 students to degree and Master’s degrees in Art and Design/ Publishing. Research activities including the PhD RADIAN (Research in Art, Design, Innovation, Architecture in Normandy - Bac+8) and projects led by the school’s teachers. A public preparatory class for the entrance exams of the art and design colleges. Weekly workshops and workshops for the general public in which more than 1,100 children, adolescents and adults participate, as well as actions to raise awareness of plastic arts for the school public and specific audiences. Cultural events open to all (conferences, exhibitions, performances, shows, concerts...).

State-recognized training and diplomas: the esam Caen/Cherbourg is part of the network of 43 public art and design colleges under the Ministry of Culture. With a history of more than 200 years, the esam Caen/Cherbourg was born from the merger in 2011 of the École supérieure d'arts & médias de Caen and the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Cherbourg-Octeville. It is now a public institution of cultural cooperation under the joint supervision of Caen la mer Normandie Communauté urbaine, the city of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the State and the Normandy Region.
